I’m Lindsay, a BACP registered therapist offering counselling in-person in Exeter and Totnes, and online across the UK.
I offer an attuned and compassionate space, grounded in over three decades of practice in Buddhist psychology and Mindfulness, alongside professional training in integrative counselling. Therapy with me is relational, drawing on a range of different therapeutic perspectives to support you to make sense of your experience - this includes person-centred, psychodynamic and somatic/body-listening approaches.
How we work together will be led by you. This may mean exploring learned patterns of relationships, or the impacts of bereavement or grief, or focusing on specific significant life transitions, or how memories might be showing up and influencing your felt sense of safety and threat. We will prioritise creating a sense of trust where your choices will always be valued and understood. I bring lived experience of cancer and specialise in working with people with chronic illness and pain, centering an approach which explores the connection between our minds, emotions, nervous systems and immune systems. I aim to hold a steady space for the entirety of a person - physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually.
Anti-oppression of all kinds is core to my values and I’m mindful of how systems and intersections of identity and/or culture can impact upon our lives. I believe that therapy needs to be accessible and available for everyone so offer a sliding scale according to what you may be able to afford. All bodies, genders and experiences are welcome.
Alongside my counselling practice I am also a teacher of trauma-informed mindfulness, compassion and Buddhist meditation, leading retreats and courses in-person and online. My intention is to support depth of connection, and joy - with ourselves, with each other, with the world around us.
Feel free to reach out and book a call to talk more about how we might
work together.
Hello and welcome,
Counselling
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of approaches in response to each person's needs, incorporating both psychotherapeutic and body-based modalities. I take a systemic view tailored to take care of our various homes - our bodies, our psychological selves, our places of meaning-making, our communities, the Earth.
Meditation
My meditation practice began in 1995 and I am passionate about how a regular practice can support greater intimacy with all life.
I run retreats and offer mentoring to support you to deepen your practice, offering practical tools which are compassion-focussed and trauma-informed.
