A little about me

Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, I come to therapeutic work through a passion and commitment for healing geared towards social and personal transformation.

My foremost training was in Drama & Performance Arts whereby physical theatre helped open me up to an appreciation of the ways our bodies hold stories, emotions, memories and experience. This led to further explorations in yoga and Buddhist meditation.

I’ve been a dharma practitioner and community organiser for over two decades, and helped launch the Ulex Project in 2016, a European training programme which equips activists with tools of psycho-social resilience to navigate burnout and build practices for sustainable organising. As a white, able bodied, queer therapist I am particularly mindful of how systems and intersections of identity and/or culture can impact upon our lives, and am constantly developing in my own practice and awareness.

In 2019, I underwent treatment for breast cancer and whilst every cancer journey is different, I do share the experience of being diagnosed, of undergoing treatment and adjusting to the world. I’m currently a counsellor with Penny Brohn UK, a national cancer charity.

Healing is an act of communion”
