How I work
I am an integrative, relational, and trauma-informed counsellor, which means that I work in a range of ways to meet the needs of my clients, incorporating aspects of different therapeutic approaches in response to each person's preferences and needs. A key influence on my therapeutic approach is logotherapy, which is rooted in Viktor Frankl’s work of ‘meaning-making’ in the face of suffering. I am curious about what gives life meaning and how we might relate to ourselves more gently.
My approach, which is psycho-spiritual, brings practices of person centred therapy, Buddhist psychology and felt sense somatics to support you to explore and understand your experience across multiple levels.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process from which growth and understanding of our conditioning can be supported through accompaniment by a compassionate witness, gaining awareness of our varying parts, and the habits and patterns which hinder and support us. From this place of awareness we can then learn to make more skilful choices aligned with our core values.
Sessions - which are typically held weekly, on the same day at the same time - are rooted in an approach which honours your lived experience and the different aspects of your identity. Some clients engage in longer term depth work, while others seek focused support around a particular season of change. Each session lasts up to 50 minutes.
My training & qualifications
I have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling and am a qualified Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), and abide by their Code of Ethics and Professional Practice.
I've completed further training in Body Psychotherapy and ways of working with complex trauma.
I hold an active DBS certificate, professional indemnity insurance and undertake regular continuing professional development.
My work is underpinned by regular clinical supervision to ensure I work in the best possible and ethical way as your therapist.
FAQs
-
Most people feel nervous when they begin therapy and decide to embark on making some kind of change, so you may experience some anxiety; it was the same for me when I began therapy for the first time.
Regarding what to expect, therapy with me will be both collaborative and relational, whereby I’ll offer a steady, supportive presence for you to explore your experience at your own pace. I will not have the answers to all your concerns, but I do have the ability to listen deeply and to attune, and to gently hold space for you as well as offer questions for self enquiry.
-
The first session is focused on getting to know you and understanding what is bringing you to therapy.
We’ll talk about what you’re struggling with, what you may be hoping to move towards, and any relevant background that might help to contextualise your experiences. You can ask questions, share concerns, and get a feel for whether the space feels comfortable.
Therapy is confidential, and your privacy is taken seriously, so we’ll review this during your first session so you know exactly what to expect.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before your first session. It’s okay to start therapy feeling unsure, nervous, or overwhelmed.

The length of therapy varies depending on your goals, needs, and circumstances.
Some people come to therapy for short-term support around a specific issue. Others choose longer-term therapy to work more deeply with specific patterns or ways of being.
I bring a humanistic, person-to-person approach that respects my clients’ autonomy and the fact that they know themselves best. We’ll regularly check in about how therapy is feeling, and you always have agency in deciding the pace and duration.
